Derealisation, the loss of connection to one's surroundings, a feeling that reality is foggy, lacking depth, a world we can't experience. Through our dependence on digitally mediated lifestyles we have drifted into an infinite number of personalised unrealities such that, for most people, reality isn't objectively real. Perhaps this is an understandable response to the alienation, manipulation, and obfuscation of the so-called real world. It is a distraction, a necessary distortion. Can we be re-realised? Can the world that a person's mind resides in be communicated? Or will we continue our spiralling descent into ourselves? SHARED UNREALITIES is a response to fake everything and real nothingness, our lack of trust in institutions, and our need for connection in a digitised world without meaning.
